Self Defense Tips for Women
By John Carl
In light of the rising trend of rape and abuse, I cannot
emphasize enough the importance of self-defense for women.
When I say self-defense, I do not only mean learning how to attack
-- women must learn that awareness is the foundation of
self-defense.
While there is no 100% guaranteed way to avoid a crime or
attack against you, there ARE ways you can reduce that likelihood.
And although you may feel that your chances of getting attacked
are low (for whatever reason), why would you even WANT to take
that chance? Remember, it may only take 1 attack....
Some simple tips that really can save your life:
-
Avoid dangerous situations
altogether - since many crimes and attacks occur at night (or
when it's dark outside), please avoid going out alone at this
time. If you MUST, stay in a well-lit, populated area. And like
you already learned in kindergarten, be wary of strangers! USE
YOUR COMMON SENSE.
- Observe of your surrounds - ANY time of day, be on the
lookout for suspicious behaviors -- someone following you,
staring at you, etc. If you have a bad or funny feeling, go on
that instinct and retreat immediately. If you feel you or
someone else may be in danger, don't hesitate to call the police
after you've secured yourself at a safe location.
As far as attacking and defended attacks, you don't need to
take years of a special martial art to FIGHT BACK! Reading this
book could give you the information you need to stay SAFE.
